More than Just a Party: Using Special Events to Elicit Genuine Enthusiasm and Tangible Results
As part of an integrated marketing campaign, a special event to promote a product or brand can be an effective way to expose your target audience to key messaging and attributes critical to its overall perception. And it's as simple as throwing a really great party, right? Karina Lopez, co-owner of KCPR, is a veteran of special events planning, management and promotion, and knows the ROI must go beyond the event to be successful. In this program, she will draw upon her experience as a PR and blogging expert to showcase case studies and share tips on:
- How to organically infiltrate the world of bloggers to garner their genuine excitement and endorsement.
- Crafting a winning pitch that will get editors' attention and elicit a positive response.
- Convincing clients and bosses that the current climate calls for "out of the box" thinking, and that it's easier and cheaper than they think to turn activations and experiences into clear calls to action.
About the Speaker
![]()
Karina Lopez started KCPR (formerly known as KC You There LLC) with her business partner, Curtis Rogers, in 2010. Karina has an extensive background in public relations, brand strategy, strategic partnerships and event production, with more than 10 years of experience working with brands in the world of lifestyle, hospitality, spirits, fashion and sports. Prior to starting her own agency, she worked with the Buffalo Sabres, leading beauty PR firm Tractenberg & Co. and New York Fashion Week. Together with Curtis, she has grown KCPR with offices in both Buffalo and Manhattan, with an LA office on the horizon. Without fear of spreading herself too thin, she started her own lifestyle and entertaining blog. This allowed her to become an "A-List" blogger by Real Simple and an on-air expert for NBC and The CW, providing entertaining tips and gift guides.
Notes: Registration opens each week at 7:45 a.m., with the presentation running from 8 to 9 a.m. and time for Q&A at the end. A light continental breakfast is provided.
The 2017 Sunrise Seminar Series is hosted at AAA Western and Central New York. Free on-site parking is available. Guests are encouraged to park behind the building (not the Sheridan Drive side). Enter through the glass atrium and follow the signs downstairs to the East Auditorium.
