Speakers:
-
Ramona Santa Maria, Ph.D., Asst. Professor, Computer Information Systems, Buffalo State College
-
Michael A. Stefanone, Ph.D., Asst. Professor of Communication, University at Buffalo
Is it true that younger audiences are moving away from Facebook and other social media outlets as their parents and grandparents (the fastest-growing group joining Facebook!) enter the arena? What are the differences in how older Americans tap into social media versus their younger family members? How do men and women differ in their engagement with social media? And how do cultural differences play a role in the satisfaction of various audiences with their online and offline social networks?
Get social with us as we welcome two leading thinkers in the research of social media and technology usage to our August 14 Sunrise Seminar! Ramona Santa Maria’s research interests include the social impacts of technology on women and minorities, and classroom technology integration. Michael Stefanone’s research looks at technology use in evolving social contexts, addresses novel uses of tools like blogs and social networks, and explores the effects these technologies have on people's relationships.
Whether you seek new ways to engage with target audiences to help your PR programs succeed, or are just interested in staying on top of the latest communication research on the subject, come prepared for an engaging program, followed by a question and answer session to help address your specific questions.
NOTES: Registration begins at 8 a.m. A light breakfast will be served.
